Overview

David Armas' practice includes the defense of medical providers in medical malpractice and professional liability matters, as well as general civil litigation defense. He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

In his personal time, David flies helicopters and airplanes and holds a private pilot certificate. He is also an avid scuba diver and instructor.

Experience

Prior to joining Adler Cohen, David worked as an Assistant District Attorney where he gained significant in-court experience – including motions practice and jury trials – representing the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in a wide range of criminal cases; including white-collar crimes, gun and drug cases, and serious felonies such as armed assault with intent to murder. Prior to joining the District Attorney’s office, David worked as regulatory counsel at a Boson-based global software company where he focused on sales & use and value added tax compliance in a variety of domestic and international jurisdictions. 

David attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he graduated with Bachelor of Science degrees in Computational Mathematics and Applied Meteorology and was a recipient of the Bagby Award for excellence in Applied Meteorology. He obtained his Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School where was designated a Public Interest Designation Fellow with Pro Bono Excellence for performing over 1,000 hours of pro-bono legal work and was named on the Supreme Judicial Court’s Pro Bono Honor Roll. During law school, David did a substantial amount of clinical work including with the Boston College Innocence Program, and as a student attorney under SJC Rule 3.03 with the Boston College Defenders and the Committee for Public Counsel Services.
