Alexandra Harvey retired from the practice of law in October 2015. She was a founding partner of the firm and served as its Managing Partner for 18 years. Alex practiced for 29 years and enjoyed a distinguished career. Her contributions to Adler, Cohen, Harvey, Wakeman & Guekguezian, LLP were innumerable. The Partners thank Alex for helping to establish the firm as one of the premier litigation firms in New England, and wish her the very best in her retirement.
Alex concentrated her practice in employment and contract law. Alex's employment practice included regular appearances before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and state and federal courts in connection with all varieties of discrimination and harassment claims. She was also experienced in other types of employment litigation, such as those involving breach of contract, wrongful termination, intentional or tortious interference with contractual or advantageous business relations, defamation and violations of various state and federal statutes. In addition, she was experienced in representing employers during various stages of employment disputes, including investigations, internal appeals, mediations, arbitrations, and unemployment hearings. She had a great deal of experience in handling employment cases involving physicians and other healthcare providers, and she regularly provided consultation and advice with respect to such issues as contract formation and termination, non-compete and severance agreements, and the rights of employers and employees under the Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and other state and federal statutes. She also provided representation in the field of commercial and business litigation, including claims for breach of contract, indemnification, and statutory claims, such as those brought pursuant to the Massachusetts consumer protection statute.
Alex was selected, based on a vote of all licensed attorneys in our state and a review by an independent blue ribbon panel, as a "Super Lawyer", as published annually in Boston Magazine, 2004-2015; and voted "Top 50 Female Lawyer", 2006.
