Overview
George Pappas’ practice focuses on the defense of physicians, hospitals, and other medical professionals in medical malpractice actions and professional liability matters, and also includes general civil litigation matters.

George’s wife is a physician practicing in Boston as an orthopedic surgeon.
Experience
Prior to law school, George gained experience in corporate tax compliance for one of the world’s largest custodian bank and securities services company. George began his legal career in Pennsylvania where he practiced as an Assistant District Attorney prosecuting a variety of criminal matters. He then moved to South Carolina where he devoted his practice to civil litigation in complex business and investment claims, in addition to legal ethics and compliance matters. He successfully represented clients in matters from heavily disputed membership buyouts to Ponzi scheme investment fraud to the defense of attorneys in disciplinary procedures. George was also a speaker at the 2021 South Carolina Association for Justice Auto Torts Advanced Trial Lawyer College where he presented on current ethical issues within the legal practice.

During law school, George worked full time at the local criminal court for the President Judge, running the motions docket. George also served as a student attorney with the Unemployment Compensation Clinic, representing the people of Allegheny County in disputes over their unemployment benefits.
