Ms. Cohen is an experienced trial attorney, having successfully defended many clients in both state and federal courts. Her practice is concentrated primarily in product liability and professional liability cases. Ms. Cohen has represented many product designers, manufacturers and distributors involving products of great diversity, including medical devices, power equipment, construction materials, home appliances, among others.
In addition, Ms. Cohen has represented physicians, dentists, nurses and other healthcare providers in defense of medical malpractice and civil rights claims, in commercial disputes involving practice assets and management, and before the various Boards of Registration which govern these licensed professionals. The medical aspect of Ms. Cohen’s practice includes cases involving all areas of medical specialty, and covers minor to catastrophic injuries and death. Ms. Cohen has been involved in medical device matters including breast implant and fen-phen litigation. The remainder of Ms. Cohen’s practice includes litigation in the areas of commercial disputes, and premises liability.
Ms. Cohen was selected, based on a vote of all licensed attorneys in our state and a review by an independent blue ribbon panel, as a "Super Lawyer" and as one of the "Top 50 Female Super Lawyers", as published annually in Boston Magazine, 2004, 2005, 2006, and "Top 100 Lawyers, 2006. Ms. Cohen has also been selected for inclusion in "The Best Lawyers in America", 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and in the 2008 Boston's Best Lawyers.
In addition to her practice, Ms. Cohen is actively involved in the local bar association and in her community. She has coordinated the educational lectures for the Massachusetts Bar Association, and is a frequent lecturer on legal and risk management topics to attorneys and healthcare providers. Ms. Cohen worked for many years as a volunteer for Children's Hospital, and is an Overseer at Newton Wellesley Hospital where she acted as he Community Member on the Ethics Committee through 2005.
